Outer Temple Chambers hosted a Travel Law Conference in Manchester on 25th April 2024 together with a selection of esteemed guests from the travel law industry. This was a hybrid event and the recordings are now available online. The third talk of the conference was presented by Sarah Crowther KC of Outer Temple Chambers, Sara-Jane Eaton of DWF and Craig Evans of Clyde & Co. They discussed ‘Supplier, contracts and indemnities: Packages from a defendant perspective’.

Sarah Crowther KC has a broad practice with areas of focus in personal injury, private international law, clinical negligence and public law and discrimination cases. Sarah has experience in all claims for injury, illness or accident with an international element, including advising on European law issues especially concerning the EU Motor Insurance Directives and disputes over jurisdiction and applicable law. She has appeared in recent high-profile cases in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court and is experienced in working with expert evidence of foreign law and handling claims to which foreign law applies.
Sara-Jane Eaton is a Partner and Head of the European Group. She leads a team of foreign personal injury lawyers, assistants and translators. Sara-Jane is an international insurance claims specialist, working on cross-border litigation arising from motor, products, travel, employers’ and public liability claims, as well as catastrophic injury and large loss claims pre- and post-Brexit, whether under the Brussels Recast Regulation and the Rome II Regulation or otherwise. Sara-Jane is a member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) and is DWF’s principal contact with ABTA.
Craig Evans is a Partner in the Casualty & Healthcare team at Clyde & Co. He deals with cross border and international claims and specialises in catastrophic and large loss international liability claims with a focus on complex cross border issues including casualty and contractual recovery. Craig is regularly retained by European and global insurers on complex cross-border claims including motor, public liability and employers’ liability. He is a specialist in issues of jurisdiction and applicable law and advises in relation to policy, liability, quantum and contractual issues. He has advised extensively on the recent and ongoing challenges following Brexit and the changing legal framework.
