The Times has named Charlotte Elves ‘Lawyer of the Week’ after she acted as junior counsel in the Court of Appeal, where the chief constable of Northamptonshire Police was found in contempt of court for failing to disclose evidence related to her client’s arrest in 2021. Charlotte Elves was junior counsel, led by James Leonard KC, representing Nadine Buzzard-Quashie in a case in which the Court of Appeal found the chief constable of Northamptonshire Police, Ivan Balhatchet, in contempt of court for repeatedly failing to produce video footage of Ms Buzzard-Quashie’s arrest in 2021. The Times has named James Counsell KC ‘Lawyer of the Week’ after he acted for the BSB in disbarring Anu Mohindru KC after an allegation of dishonesty was found to be proved, relating to an application which he made for tenancy in 2012/13. James Counsell KC was identified as Lawyer of the Week in The Times’ 1st October edition after his stellar performance in the recent Regulatory & Disciplinary case of Anu Mohindru KC.
