Louis Weston joined a line up of experts at the ‘Safeguarding Sport in Mexico – Focus on Tackling Competition Manipulation’ Conference on 26th and 27th August 2025 in Mexico. If not properly addressed, the manipulation of sports competitions and corruption in sport represent a global threat to the integrity, credibility, and fairness of sport. These phenomena can affect any discipline, country, or level of play, and have been increasingly exploited by organized criminal networks. Louis Weston delivered a webinar session on ‘Drafting Effective Safeguarding Policies’ to Sport Resolutions, as part of their Sport Case Management Programme on Thursday 10th July 2025. The webinar focused on policies to help all participating National Governing Bodies (NGBs) strengthen their safeguarding frameworks. The session covered the common challenges in drafting safeguarding policies and subsequent disciplinary processes, and provided clear, practical guidance for creating a procedure that is both legally robust and operationally effective.
