Outer Temple Chambers hosted a series of talks and discussions on spinal injury related topics. These were chaired by Eliot Woolf QC. The webinar was held on Thursday 23rd June 2022. The Spinal Sessions focused on the topic of Cauda Equina Syndrome.
The second talk of the day was by Jonathan Hand QC and Daniel Clarke who gave a legal update on, liability, delay in diagnosis & treatment, Consent and causation.
Jonathan and Daniel look at three different case studies where there was a delay in diagnosis and treatment, with in their presentation.

Eliot Woolf QC chaired this event. He specialises exclusively in the fields of Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury (domestic and international). Jonathan Hand QC specialises in Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury work.
He has wide-ranging experience across both these fields, and acts for a mix of Claimant and Defendant clients. Much of his work involves catastrophic brain and spinal injuries as well as fatal accident claims.
He has a particular specialism in equine and other animal related litigation, and is well-known for his expertise in this area.
Other aspects of his practice include representation at Inquests and Professional Negligence claims arising out of the conduct of personal injury and clinical negligence litigation.

Daniel Clarke practises in Personal Injury.
He has a particular specialism in cases with an international element, including claims raising conflicts and jurisdictional issues. He also has experience of acting in claims in other jurisdictions, including in the Privy Council and in Jersey.
He undertakes Clinical Negligence work for both claimants and defendants and receives regular instructions from NHS Trusts. His practice also includes industrial disease, historic sex abuse, RTAs, and employers’ liability.
He is an accredited mediator.
