Tim Nesbitt QC

It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely death of our friend and colleague, Tim Nesbitt QC.

Tim was not only a very fine lawyer, but a person of huge decency, graciousness and humour who was always modest about his own exceptional abilities and generous with his time in supporting his colleagues in Chambers, with particular encouragement and support for those at the start of their careers.  His loss will be felt profoundly.

Tim was called to the Bar in 1991 and took silk in 2018. He joined Outer Temple in 2006, from 199 Strand, along with his colleagues Eliot Woolf QC, Rachel Vickers QC, Patrick Sadd and James Aldridge. He built up a successful practice, focusing on commercial, regulatory and public law. His diverse practice reflected his interest in the technicalities of commercial law and in the human and important impact of public and human rights law.  Combining  great legal skill and a warm approachable personality, it is no surprise that the legal directories reflected that he was a “powerful and clear-headed advocate” and someone who “builds a good rapport with clients.”

More than that, though, he was our friend and we will miss him.

Outer Temple and the legal world is poorer today for Tim’s loss. We send our deep condolences to Tim’s family and friends who have lost him far too soon.

Should you wish to contact Chambers in relation to this sad news, please email our Chief Executive at rebecca.priestley@outertemple.com.
