Regulatory Details

Barristers

Outer Temple Chambers is a leading global barristers’ chambers with our head office in London. Our barristers (also known as our members) are self-employed, independent practitioners operating in chambers. They share premises and administration but are separate and independent from one another. Every barrister remains ultimately responsible to the client for the work they are instructed to deliver.

As well as our members operating in chambers, we boast a number of door tenants and professional associates around the world. Our door tenants are barristers that are also affiliated to, and practise out of, another chambers. Our professional associates are either qualified lawyers (in a non-UK jurisdiction) or legal academics.

Barristers are regulated by the Bar Standards Board (BSB) to provide legal services in England and Wales. Their professional details are recorded in the online Barristers’ Register maintained by the Bar Standards Board. The Register includes information about their practising status, practising address, the reserved legal activities they are authorised to undertake and whether they have been the subject of any disciplinary findings. Particulars of other professional bodies or similar institutions with which members of chambers are registered can be provided by the practice management team if required.

Chambers and barristers are governed by latest edition of the BSB Handbook and its Code of Conduct, available from the Bar Standards Board website.

They have an in-depth knowledge of their barristers and excel in matching barristers to clients’ needs. They aim to provide fee quotations promptly, and within the 14 day period indicated by the Bar Standards Board (BSB).
