UK Sanctions Law and Practice: The First Definitive Guide to the UK’s Post-Brexit Sanctions Framework

We are excited to announce the launch of the very first practitioner’s textbook dedicated to the UK’s post-Brexit sanctions framework: UK Sanctions Law and Practice, co-authored by Sophie O’Sullivan. Published by Oxford University Press, with the Foreword from Lady Rose of Colmworth DBE, Justice of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom, this guide was edited and co-authored by three of the industry’s leading experts; Sophie O’Sullivan of our Business Crime, Regulation & Sanctions team, Amanda Pinto KC, and Alexandre Haines. Alongside contributing industry experts, they have created “an invaluable resource for current and future practitioners in this fast-moving area” (Lady Rose). Louis Weston published in Barrister Magazine on ‘Transgender Athletes’ Participation in Sport’

Head of Outer Temple Chambers’ Sports Law Group, Louis Weston has been published in Barrister Magazine, providing a legal analysis of transgender athletes’ participation in sport and the implications of the Equality Act 2010. In his article, Louis analyses the complex legal and moral considerations of transgender athlete participation in sport, particularly in competitive environments. Louis’ legal analysis focuses on section 95 of the Equality Act 2010, which provides exemptions allowing organisers of gender-affected sports to restrict participation where necessary to ensure fair competition or competitor safety. Last year, in For Women Scotland Ltd v The Scottish Ministers [2025] UKSC 16, the Supreme Court clarified that, in this legal context, “sex” refers to biological sex, meaning organisers of certain sports may…

Neurotechnology & The Law: Contract Law – Harry Lambert published in the New Law Journal

Harry Lambert has co-authored an article alongside Dr Michelle Sharpe in the New Law Journal’s latest feature, titled ‘Neurotechnology & The Law: Contract Law’. Consumer neurotech devices that read and respond to brain and nerve activity are commercially available. We are excited to reveal the launch date and pre-order details for the very first practitioner’s textbook dedicated to the UK’s post-Brexit sanctions framework; Oxford University Press’ UK Sanctions Law and Practice, co-authored by Sophie O’Sullivan. This comprehensive reference guide to the UK sanctions framework, including the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 (SAMLA) was co-edited by OTC’s Business Crime & Sanctions team member, Sophie O’Sullivan, alongside fellow industry experts Amanda Pinto KC and Alex Haines. Sopie also co-authored four chapters of the book including a chapter on Financial Sanctions, and Designations and Challenges.
