She is also an award-winning lawyer with 20 years of legal experience working in the Gulf, France & the United Kingdom, in the sectors of Finance, Restructuring, Investment, Corporate, Commercial, Real Estate, Litigation and Arbitration. Her other areas of practice include Corporate, Finance, Restructuring and Investment advisory work.
Cherine is admitted to practice as a Solicitor in England and Wales and as an Attorney in the State of New York and has held senior positions in-house and in private practice. She also has Higher Rights of Audience (Civil Advocacy) in England and Wales. She has worked with leading UK & US Law firms in London & Paris including Weil Gotshal & Manges, Ashurst and Orrick. In the UAE she has worked with Barclays, Majid Al Futtaim Group & Dubai Group (a member of Dubai Holding). In the Gulf she has gained extensive international commercial experience having advised on some of the largest government & private development projects in the region and internationally.
As General Counsel of Dubai Group LLC she advised on the group’s US$10 billion restructuring and won awards for the best Legal Team with Corporate Counsel Middle East (in association with Legal Week) and In-House Community Congress (MENA-Asia Awards) and was shortlisted in both for best General Counsel.
