Ian Browne began pupillage at Outer Temple Chambers in September 2020. He is currently undertaking his second six and accepts instructions in all of chambers’ practice areas.
Before joining the Bar, Ian worked for leading human rights organisation Liberty, where he managed a team providing expert advice to the public on a wide range of human rights and public law matters.
Alongside studying for the Bar Practical Training Course, Ian worked as a paralegal at Farore Law, a firm specialising in sexual harassment and discrimination claims. His experience at Farore included assisting on A v UBS and A v Mike Hill MP, both of which have been covered in the national and specialist press.
Ian has further professional experience working at a social welfare legal charity in East London, where he focused on complex social security issues alongside representing clients with disability discrimination complaints in the Employment Tribunal and SENDIST.
Alongside his professional roles, Ian is a trustee at Hackney Community Law Centre and was formerly a Young Legal Aid Lawyers committee members and Chair of the Young Lawyers Committee of the Human Rights Lawyers Association.
