Outer Temple Chambers hosted a Travel Law Conference in Manchester on 1st June together with a selection of esteemed guests from the travel law industry. This was a hybrid event and the recordings are now available online. The first panel session of the day focused on managing cosmetic tourism claims.
Carin has a busy travel and cross-border practice and is regularly instructed in injury claims with a foreign element. She acts for both Claimants and Defendants. Carin regularly appears in the county court in respect of claims involving the Package Travel Regulations 1992 and the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. Carin’s experience of package travel claims extends to those involving fatal accidents. She has advised Defendants on the conduct of package travel claims in following Griffiths v TUI [2020] and regularly takes instructions to draft Part 35 questions as the first step in controverting expert evidence.
Cheryl is a Partner in Irwin Mitchell’s International Personal Injury department. She acts for clients who have been injured in incidents abroad, dealing exclusively with cases which involve a cross-border element and specialising in conflicts of law issues. She deals with some of the most complex, high value claims including brain and spinal injuries, multiple fractures, psychological trauma, fatal accidents and clinical negligence cases. Cheryl has a special interest in claims arising as a result of clinical negligence during cosmetic surgery abroad.
Shauni is a lawyer at HBSV Advocaten in Belgium. She specialises in labour law, privacy and data protection law, commercial and contract law, and company law and the Law of Associations. Her team represents both Belgian and other clients in national and international disputes, whether in an advisory capacity or for the purpose of providing support in negotiations, court proceedings, mediation and arbitration.
