The London ABA conference will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of July at Inner Temple. Barristers from across the globe and from all areas of law will discuss innovative ideas, political influences and the challenges and opportunities facing their profession.
The Hon. Justice Keane AC, High Court of Australia is expected to deliver the keynote address.
David Russell QC has also accepted the invitation to participate in the tax stream on the second day of the event. His session is entitled “Tax and bilateral investment treaties – a means to both create and resolve disputes?”.
The event’s organisers describe David’s session as one that “will discuss the circumstances in which substantial tax disputes can be resolved through the dispute-resolution procedures under bilateral investment treaties, including in what circumstances an investor can bring a claim under a bilateral investment treaty in respect of a taxation policy pursued by the host state”.
