Nathan Tavares KC has recently featured in a Fieldfisher podcast, alongside experts Jennifer Kelly (Fieldfisher) and Alan Hiscox (British Horse Society), discussing the intricacies of running a personal injury claim involving a horse, rider and driver. In the podcast, Nathan, Jennifer and Alan discuss how drivers and riders have responsibilities to make sharing the roads safer, how to report incidents or near misses on the BHS’ Horse i App, what options are available to riders injured on the road, and why it is helpful to obtain legal advice early on.
Alan, Director of Safety at the British Horse Society, reports there were 3,400 incidents on the roads involving horses in 2023, but with only one in 5 riders reporting them, the figure is actually much higher. Nathan, Jennifer and Alan have recorded the podcast to provide guidance on running a personal injury claim and to offer advice on keeping drivers, riders and horses safe.
