Will Young secures a seven figure settlement in traumatic brain injury case

Will Young of Outer Temple Chambers has secured a seven figure settlement for his client in a traumatic brain injury case.

Will Young, a personal injury barrister at Outer Temple Chambers was instructed by Victoria Berger of RWK Goodman in this claim.

The claim involved an accident at work in which the Claimant fell though a hole in the floor on a building site as a result of negligence on the part of his employer, suffering a significant brain injury in the process, as well as spinal fractures.

The Claimant was left with cognitive and vestibular deficits, as well as total loss of hearing on one side. He suffered from debilitating fatigue, which hindered his ability to return to work, as did the very significant psychiatric symptoms he suffered (against a background of pre-exiting mental health difficulties).

The claim was listed for a 10 day trial in the High Court in October 2023, but settled at a Joint Settlement meeting shortly beforehand for a sum in excess of £1.1 million.

Will Young acted as sole counsel for the Claimant in the case.
