The UAE’s ability to effectively host increasingly complex international dispute resolution proceedings was evident in a recently settled $120 million dispute referred to arbitration in Dubai. In that case, the Dubai Court of Appeal unequivocally upheld the Dubai seated Arbitral Tribunal’s finding that it was a “competent judicial entity” with the same standing as a competent court to authorise the production of confidential information under the terms of Federal legislation restricting the circulation of such information.
